I had the honor today of photographing the week old daughter of dear friends. My APC family will surely celebrate with me the arrival of Jeff and Nicole’s daughter, Clara Grace. Is she not a beautiful baby? She has the silkiest hair and the most delicate, feminine fingers. Perhaps she’ll have her daddy’s amazing piano and organ skills.

Clara Grace’s mom and I love to spend time together and I am so thankful for her friendship. It’s a blessing to have what I call “2 am friends” – the ones you can call at any time no matter what. She is certainly one of those friends. She is also my monthly pedicure buddy. :)

I can’t wait to watch Clara Grace grow up and see what all life has in store for her.

The four legged beauty below is “big sister” Teela! She enjoyed some of my props while Clara enjoyed lunch. She’s adapting to the new baby so very well.

H family, please enjoy these images! Many more coming soon. Thank you again~

During either late February or early March I’m going to have some mini sessions especially for silhouettes. How many of you have one of these of yourself from when you were a child? I just love the timeless look of silhouettes and they make such great gifts for family – especially grandparents.

More details coming within the next couple weeks about these items. If you have a session already scheduled in the next couple weeks and would like to have a silhouette from your session please just let me know in advance!

Wouldn’t these be adorable on little note cards?

I will have a preview of a maternity session and a two and a half year old soon. Stay tuned! (and stay warm!!)

Merry Christmas!

December 22, 2009

As Christmas approaches I want to take a moment to thank all of you who have given me the opportunity to photograph you, your pet, your baby, your child, your family. It truly brings me joy to work as a photographer. When I was younger, I used to think it would be so amazing to be a florist. No matter the occasion people are always happy to receive flowers – whether a romantic vase of roses, a sweet and simple bouquet to celebrate the birth of a baby, or a beautiful peace lily to express condolences at a funeral. Florist I am not, but in many ways I think being a photographer serves the same purpose. Viewing photographs evokes so many emotions. Often times new moms tell me the sweet, simple images of their baby make them cry. Then a year later they tell me how they’ve looked through an album or book and they just can’t believe their baby was so tiny just 12 months ago and is now walking! I have the wonderful privilege of working with families over and over again as time passes and I get to celebrate their family growing older. It is truly an honor to document life this way.

Photographing a couple in love is such a treat. New love just radiates and it has a way of reminding me how in love I am with my husband and my family. For these couples, I hope these images always bring back memories of what it is like to be young and head over heels in love.

Family portraits are so timeless. I have photographs of my grandmother with her family when she was a teenager. I have photographs of my father as a toddler – and I know where my son gets some of his blond curly hair. After funerals my family has gathered around to go through boxes and drawers of photographs. We laugh and cry and reminisce as we look through a lifetime of memories. I encourage you to have a family portrait taken on a regular basis – leave these memories for the generations that come after you.

It is a blessing for me to do what I love while staying home with my beautiful children. I am thankful for my husband’s support and encouragement.

As you gather with your family this Christmas season please know I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be your photographer. May each of you have a very peaceful and blessed Christmas and a wonderful 2010.

~ Please don’t forget to email nominations for a family to receive a gift session and $750 worth of products. Nominations must be received by December 23 so that I can tally votes and contact the winner Christmas Eve!

~ If you need a last minute gift, gift certificates are available in any amount.

I have a few appointments remaining for holiday mini sessions on November 21. These sessions will be held at the Shiloh Farms clubhouse off McFarland Road. There will be two inside sets and we will also have access to outside areas if you prefer outdoor shots. These mini-sessions will be your choice of studio or outside. Each session lasts 20-25 minutes. Newborns are welcome as part of family portraits but mini sessions don’t allow enough time for a full newborn session. The session fee is based on the package you wish to purchase and must be paid at the time the session is booked.

I do have a few more appointment times open for full sessions this year and will always make time for newborns. If you are expecting between now and min January please call to reserve your session. We will schedule based on your due date but will adjust as needed once your baby is born.

To reserve your session, please contact me to reserve a time and visit http://www.robynguy.com/session to guarantee your session today!

Here is the first preview of Holiday cards for this season. I am accepting orders now for cards and will do so until December 6. All cards come with envelopes. You may select to print cards on photo paper (front only) or on lovely linen or pearl paper (single or double side). I do have some card designs for folded 5×7 cards as well as for 5×5 trifolds. Please let me know if you have something in mind and don’t see it – we can work together to design the perfect card for your family or business.

Many more designs coming over the next couple days. Will post some larger images so that you can see the intricate details on the cards.

Now I need to decide which card to use for my family!

Holiday sessions are booking now – please reserve soon before all appointment times are taken. I am considering a day of mini-sessions in November and will post details about that this weekend as well.

I am so excited to announce mini Valentine’s Day sessions this year.  Please see below for information.  I’ll announce the location soon – am still deciding between a couple great locations.  I have lots of totally cute Valentine Card templates available.  Last year we printed 5×7 cards for my daughter and cut them in half (so each print made 2 cards).  They were a huge hit.

Sessions will be scheduled every 15 minutes and proofs will be available quickly.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

Our family Christmas cards came in the mail today and I am totally in love with them!  Am hoping to spend some time this weekend getting them in envelopes and stamped and addressed.  Many thanks to my friend Jenica for this beautiful card design.  She does beautiful work!  Thought I would share this with a few pictures of my little ones.

Hope all of you are enjoying these busy days before Christmas!
